Breakfast at the hotel. Private walking tour in the historical stores of Florence with
English speaking tour guide, an original way to discover this cultural city. Walking along the narrow
streets of the Santa Croce neighborhood, you reach the first workshop. While walking, the guide
will describe the characteristics of Florentine neighborhoods, focusing on the history of the local
arts and crafts. Once in the first workshop, you attend a demonstration on how to create marbled
papers. Then walking towards the second workshop (varying between ancient book binding and
restoration, ceramics, wood carving or textile restoration) and demonstration in the laboratory. Stop
for lunch (included) in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon visit the jeweler production workshop,
located close the old Roman Gate. |

Breakfast at the hotel. 2 hours course to learning how to create your carnival mask!. Brief description of how a typical Venetian mask is made. It is at least 800 years old technique, which is used to create masks such as those chosen by the participants! Participants will find more than 50 models of white paper-mache masks of every kind: traditional Venetian masks, theatrical masks (Commedia dell Arte), Venice Carnival masks, masks for children, and many more. There are more than 7 different techniques to choose, the same that we use in our workshop. These techniques are very effective but simple so that participants, if necessary with the help of the instructor, will always get the desired result.
Once the techniques are explained, participants decorate their own masks in a free and creative way. This is the creative phase but if they need a little help, we have examples and photos of finished masks that can help give inspiration. Afternoon at your leisure. |
