One of the holiest places on earth, Vaishno Devi Mandir in Jammu Division nestles at an altitude of 5300 ft above sea level. Vaishno Devi Mandir is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Shakti, located in the hill of Vaishno Devi, Jammu and Kashmir, India. In Hinduism, Vaishno Devi, also known as Mata Rani and Vaishnavi, is a manifestation of the Mother Goddess. Located at an altitude of 5200 feet above sea level and at a distance of approximately 14 kilometres from Katra, this is the second most visited religious site in the country. The shrine contains images of three deities - Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati who are all reincarnations of Goddess Durga. The Mata Vaishno Devi Temple is acknowledged as one of the Shakti Peethas of Goddess Durga.

Arrive Jammu - Raghunath Temple

Welcome to Jammu, the City of Temples Upon arrival at Airport / Railway Station in Jammu, you will be transferred to your hotel in Jammu. Later proceed to Raghunath Temple, a famous temple with seven shrines each with its own Sikhara, is one of the largest temple complexes of North India. The temple was built during the period 1835-1860 by Maharaja Gulab Singh and his son Maharaja Ranbir Singh. The temple has many gods, but the presiding deity is Rama, an Avatar of Vishnu. The rest of the day is at leisure or you can just stroll around the market. |

Day 2
Jammu - Katra - Vaishno Devi Ji Darshan

Early morning after breakfast, proceed to Katra for visit to "Mata Vaishno Devi" Darshan. After check in to your hotel in Katra, proceed to your onward pilgrimage to Bhawan by foot or Ponies (to be arranged directly) or by Chopper. After Darshan, leave by Chopper / Ponies for Katra back. Rest of the day is free at leisure after Darshan. |
