This unique tour offers a mix of luxury lodge accommodation and camping in the tiger reserve offering you a close view of the unique central Indian highland ecosystem. Combing jeep safaris, elephant rides, boat rides and long walks & camping, it is an ideal way to see this park – not possible in most other parks in the country.
About Satpura
Satpura Tiger Reserve is spread over 1427 sq km and was formed in 1981 after joining Satpura, Pachmari and Bori sanctuaries and the altitude ranges from 300 to 1,352 metres (980 to 4,436 ft). The park is known for a variety of animals and birds including the Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Crocodiles and over 300 species of birds. The terrain of the national park is extremely rugged and consists of fascinating deep valleys, sandstone peaks, narrow gorges, rivulets, waterfalls, thick dense green forest of Sal and mixed forest, it also has large tracts of Teak forests.
Camping and walking experience
More than two centuries after the first safari expedition brought the Europeans in direct contacts with the wilds; the lure of the experience endures. Out of the hardship of travel across difficult terrain in colonial Africa and India, came an experience of great luxury and sensuality. This ability to imbue any environment, no matter how alien, with the comfortable elements gave the travelers an exotic travel experience.
Seeing the trend we bring to you the experience, where besides enjoying the national parks traditionally by jeeps, we move on to such many undisturbed areas where camping and walking can be enjoyed.
Tailor made to start at your desired date of travel – this safari offers high adventure, opportunity to view animals of the Indian jungle, drive through rugged hills, beautiful streams and rivers, tribal villages, ancient temples and home to the Indian Tiger.
There is no electricity at campsites and accommodation is basic in tents. Care is taken to provide personalized service and comforts. Camp cooks turn out delicious fresh meals to be enjoyed in exhilarating surroundings.
Arrive Satpura Tiger Reserve for lunch from Bhopal or Itarsi. Evening Boat Ride from the lodge. |
